Exploring the Integration of the Metaverse in Healthcare and Industry

The rapid progress in the development of metaverse technologies provides historic opportunities for healthcare and industrial disruptive transformation. As technology is being developed, challenges are significant in utilizing pragmatic implementation strategies in balancing innovation, regulatory demands, user adoption, and infrastructure limitations. The current study implements a mixed-methods research approach combining systematic literature review (n = 42), expert interviews (n = 17), and case study analysis in order to determine the current prevailing metaverse integration strategies. According to evidence, successful implementations are composed of three ingredients: phased deployment processes, cross-functional governance controls, and human-centered design patterns. Clinical applications also report measurable gains in surgery training competency (37% retention of skill proficiency) and home monitoring performance (29% rate increase in compliance), whereas manufacturing applications attain efficiency gains in maintenance (41% reduction in downtime) and staff safety (52% reduction in reportable incidents). This research discovers that metaverse technologies deployed with context-sensitive frameworks result in significant performance advantages in both medical and industrial contexts, but we must address prevailing compatibility issues as well as formulate special ethical frameworks for each application.
