Journey to Wellness: Motion-Driven VR with 360 \(^\circ \) Panoramic Environments for Arts-Inspired Relaxation

摘要

We present Journey to Wellness, a motion-driven VR art framework that integrates 360 \(^\circ \) panoramic environments to create an embodied and interactive experience. Its core innovation is a real-time motion-scene coupling technique that synchronizes panoramic transitions with the user’s vehicle movement. By translating vehicular dynamics into a panoramic interactive medium, the framework establishes a bidirectional feedback loop between motion and environment. The system comprises three key components: (1) Motion-linked control design, which employs an IMU and ESP32-based vehicle platform for real-time motion sensing and data transmission; (2) Immersive content creation, which uses 360 \(^\circ \) panoramic capture to reproduce natural and cultural environments with ecological fidelity; and (3) Redirected-mapping spatial expansion, which applies a curvature-gain algorithm to transform limited physical motion into continuous virtual roaming. Through this approach, Journey to Wellness reframes VR spatial cognition by transforming passive cultural tourism into embodied engagement. It offers a mode of technological-artistic integration that connects cultural experience with relaxation, creativity, and holistic well-being.
