These technologies are causing a paradigm shift in a variety of sectors, including logistics, agriculture, cartography, infrastructure monitoring, cinematography, public order monitoring, and more. Nevertheless, this rapid technological progress has engendered a formidable challenge for regulators worldwide. Ensuring the safety and harmonized integration of these new flying vehicles into the existing common airspace, which has historically been adapted for manned aviation, is of the utmost importance [1–3].
