摘要

Digital transformation in the microfinance sector is an evolving process, which creates value for both institutions and their clients. Annapurna Pariwar is a unique organisation that started digitisation across microfinance, micro-insurance, and human resources management. Established in 1993, Annapurna Pariwar has shifted from manual processes to digital systems. The organisation successfully created an internal technology called the ‘microfinance management system’ to facilitate customer identification and engagement, as well as collection and recovery processes. By leveraging technology, the organisation was able to enhance service delivery, reduce costs, perform real-time portfolio monitoring, and manage customers more efficiently to improve overall experiences. This chapter examines Annapurna Pariwar’s digitalisation process, strategies, and its implications on business and customer management. The chapter provides important insights for policymakers, banks, and financial institutions aiming to utilise digitalisation for more equitable and scalable financial services.
