A Modified Pulse Controlled System with Segmented-Charge Thrusters for Multiple Launch Rocket System

摘要

Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS) has been widely used all around the world due to the advantages of heavy firepower density weaved in a short period time. Theory and practice indicate that initial disturbance of rockets is a primary factor affecting the shooting accuracy of the uncontrolled MRLS. The complex interactions between the launch tubes and the rockets significantly affect the initial disturbance of the rockets, thereby impacting the firing precision of the MLRS. Pulse controlled system is verified can help control the angular motion of the launcher during launching process by applying the pulse thrusters, which helps improve the dispersion characteristics of the MLRS. A segmented-charge thruster with multi nozzles which can be ignited with different magnitude of force is designed. Then, the control ability of segmented-charge thrusters is studied and the ignition strategy for the modified pulse controlled system is proposed. Monte Carlo simulations demonstrate that the proposed technique can help achieve the precise control of the initial deciation at the muzzle.
