Scale Effect of Nanoindentation-Scratch
摘要
Shale reservoirs are characterized by a wide variety of mineral types and significant non-homogeneity, making it extremely difficult to characterize their mechanical properties. In addition, due to the non-homogeneous nature of shale, conventional core-based tests cannot fully elucidate the microscopic changes induced by pores and grain layers at all scales, making it necessary to further investigate the microscopic mechanical properties of the rock [1]. Shale, as a composite material, can be regarded as a multiscale material system from its mechanical properties, and a large amount of research work has been carried out by the previous researchers for the scale upgrading method of nanoindentation, and less research has been done on the variability of nano-centimeter scratch experimental results and scale upgrading methods. In this chapter, starting from the macro/micromechanical analysis, a systematic study is carried out on the response law of mechanical properties of textured shale at different scales by using the indentation-scratch experiments, and the fine characterization of the multiscale mechanical properties and the scale-up method are established.
