This chapter is a pragma-linguistic case study of (de)legitimization in social media journalism. It focuses on popular Polish writer and correspondent Marcin Ogdowski’s Facebook reporting of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, where fact and opinion merge and intertwine to reflect the journalist’s straightforward, lucid, and outspoken attitude. Based on a corpus of Facebook posts gathered between 22 February 2022 and 30 June 2024 (approximately 90,000 words), the article documents discursive and linguistic strategies aimed at condemning Russia and praising Ukraine. The findings demonstrate how Ogdowski’s fact-based reporting (e.g., war-related figures and statistics) on the one hand, and opinion-driven accounts (e.g., highly loaded language and tone) on the other hand, converge in the warfare legitimization of Ukraine and delegitimization of Russia.

摘要
