Dysphagia can be caused by neurological disorders such as stroke, muscular disorders such as dermatomyositis, and esophageal disorders such as esophageal cancer or achalasia. Eosinophilic esophagitis is difficult to distinguish from gastroesophageal reflux disease based on symptoms alone. We present a case in which a patient presented with dysphagia and was diagnosed with eosinophilic esophagitis following endoscopic examination. Eosinophilic esophagitis is definitively diagnosed through biopsy during endoscopy. The use of the EREFS system, a characteristic finding, is useful, and it is important to always consider differential diagnosis while performing endoscopy.
