This book has examined how Big Data can support the practice of EBPM. Part II analyzed the current status of EBPM in Japan and the UK and identified key weaknesses in the existing evidence base for policies. Part III then presented empirical studies that use different forms of Big Data to generate policy-relevant evidence. Together, these analyses have provided both a diagnosis of current EBPM practices and concrete illustrations of how Big Data can complement traditional sources of evidence. This final chapter brings these strands together. It synthesizes the main findings from across the book and answers the research questions that motivated the study. It then discusses the academic contributions of the book, the implications for policymakers and practitioners, and the limitations of the analyses. Finally, it reflects on the future of EBPM in the Big Data era, considering both the opportunities and the risks associated with the expanding use of Big Data in public policy, and outlines directions for future research and practice.

摘要
