摘要

Rainfall-induced landslides lead to the closure of transportation corridors and cause infrastructure damage, particularly in the hilly regions of India. There is a need to assess the susceptibility of rainfall-induced landslides in a vast geographical expanse in the Indian peninsula. This study evaluates susceptibility for a shallow landslide in an area using the Transient Rainfall Infiltration and Grid-Based Regional Slope-Stability Model (TRIGRS), taking into account important factors, such as topographical features, rainfall infiltration, and soil parameters. This study used the data from India-WRIS (Water Resources Information System) in the Rudraprayag region to obtain cumulative rainfall patterns. Additionally, three-dimensional slope stability is carried out with the help of a Digital Terrain Model (DTM) in place of a conventional two-dimensional slope stability analyses. This study analyzed the active Kaliasaur landslide in Uttarakhand, India, using DTM from the public domain and verified the suitability of TRIGRS for landslide susceptibility assessment at the regional and local scales. Overall, this study emphasizes the use of TRIGRS as a valuable tool in evaluating landslide susceptibility in hilly regions at a regional scale.
