The Preschool Teacher Policy in China
摘要
This Chapter explores preschool teacher policies in China from various angles. Over the past 70 years since the founding of the People’s Republic of China, guided by the Party’s educational policies and efforts of preschool educators, China’s preschool education has grown significantly. It transitioned from small-scale beginnings to a larger system, from reliance on experience to a more law-governed approach. The evolution moved from comprehensive adoption of the Soviet model to critical reflection, learning from experiences in Europe and the United States, to independent exploration and innovation. This journey has advanced the development of preschool pedagogy in China, leading to a dynamic trend of scientification, legalization, and localization, which can be likened to smoothing out a rough road. This historical process has laid a solid foundation for achieving localized preschool pedagogy in China.
