Introduction
摘要
Xiqu is an art form that was conceived, formed, and developed within the context of China’s agrarian society, and its existence is adapted to this context. In ancient China, when people “worked at sunrise and rested at sunset,” daily routines were basically regulated by natural changes and agricultural production. It was difficult for ancient Chinese culture to exist independently from the lifestyle dominated by nature and agricultural production. Xiqu is precisely the traditional performing art that has existed by adapting to this lifestyle.
