The study of the linguistic landscape (LL) reveals its significance in the field of language through the role of the LL in public places and the increasingly diverse development of languages and cultures. The study of linguistic landscapes began in the 1970s in different countries around the world, in order to provide insight into the social reality of multilingual contexts (Backhaus 2007).
