Introduction
摘要
As the global awareness of cultural diversity and the preservation of historical memory continue to grow, the protection of cultural heritage is increasingly drawing widespread attention from all sectors of society. From international organizations to local practices, cultural heritage is no longer viewed as comprising static relics or artifacts, but rather, as dynamic carriers of collective memory, cultural identity, and social values. Against this backdrop, the interpretation and presentation of heritage—as the pivotal link connecting the heritage with public perception—is increasingly recognized as an indispensable component of a comprehensive conservation system. The advent of the digital age has introduced unprecedented transformative opportunities for interpreting and presenting heritage through rapid advancements in information technology. This chapter provides a macrolevel overview of the evolving trends in cultural heritage preservation, establishing the contextual background and a practical framework for the detailed analyses presented in the subsequent chapters.
