摘要

Pathological assessment is a microscopic examination of cells and tissues to determine whether it is a malignant disease. Without a pathological diagnosis, the patient cannot start the treatment for a malignant disease. Pathological diagnosis also plays an important role in evaluating the nature of cancers. Basic pathological assessment is conducted by the human eye, employing hematoxylin and eosin staining. Immunohistochemistry may support the diagnosis by evaluating some protein expressions to provide useful information about the tumor. In this chapter, the flow of a pathological diagnosis was also mentioned. To ensure the quality of medical care, an accurate pathological diagnosis is essential.
