Medical Rehabilitation of Patients with Cancer in Japan

This article presents a short history of the medical rehabilitation of cancer patients in Japan. The term last around 60 years, from 1962 to 2022. Rehabilitation interventions were coordinated with the treatment of cancer. The outcome of cancer rehabilitation should include improvements in Activities of Daily Living and/or Quality of Life during or after cancer treatment. Our rehabilitation of patients with cancer now takes place in cancer centres, general hospitals, and some in-home settings.
