The Basics of Cancer Pharmacotherapy

Recent advances in cancer pharmacotherapy, especially in targeted therapy based on specific biomarkers, have significantly improved the patients’ outcomes. However, new problems such as never-before-experienced physical toxicity and financial toxicity have arisen as well. In order to minimize these problems, the purpose of anticancer pharmacotherapy should be clarified, and appropriate use must be considered.
