Synergistic Strategies: Enhancing Pest Management Through the Compatibility of EPF and Other Biocontrol Agents
摘要
Entomopathogenic fungi (EPF) have emerged as effective biocontrol agents in integrated pest management (IPM) systems, offering a sustainable alternative to chemical pesticides. This chapter provides a comprehensive overview of the compatibility of EPF with other biocontrol agents, including bacteria, nematodes, and insect parasitoids. We explore the mechanisms that govern both synergistic and antagonistic interactions among these agents, emphasizing the importance of environmental conditions, host specificity, and application methods. Through case studies and experimental approaches, we highlight successful combinations that enhance pest control efficacy while minimizing negative interactions. This chapter concludes with insights into future research directions aimed at optimizing the use of EPF in conjunction with other biocontrol strategies, ultimately contributing to more sustainable agricultural practices.
