Role of the Interactive Relationship Between E-Governance and Artificial Intelligence Applications in Enhancing Cyber-Security
摘要
E-governance has transformed public administration by leveraging digital technologies to enhance service delivery, transparency, and citizen engagement. However, the increasing digitization of government services has amplified cybersecurity risks, necessitating robust defense mechanisms. Artificial intelligence (AI) applications have emerged as critical tools for enhancing cybersecurity within e-governance frameworks. This research investigates the interactive relationship between e-governance and AI applications, with a focus on their combined impact on enhancing cybersecurity. This study adopts a quantitative approach, using a structured questionnaire to collect data from 112 employees in the Directorate of Communications and Information in Nineveh. The questionnaire was designed to assess employees’ perceptions of AI applications in e-governance, their effectiveness in enhancing cybersecurity, and the challenges they face in implementing them. The results indicate that e-governance has a significant impact on customer service at the directorate level. AI also significantly impacted customer service at the directorate level. The two independent variables, EG and AI, had a significant impact on corporate governance within the directorate of the study sample. This study provides economic policymakers and governments with a better understanding of the interaction between e-government and AI applications. This can be achieved by implementing strict data privacy frameworks to address ethical concerns and ensure compliance with regulations, such as the General Data Protection Regulation. Training programs for public sector employees can bridge the skills gap in AI applications. AI can also be combined with human oversight to reduce bias and enhance accountability.
