The Diseases of Eleuthero (Eleutherococcus senticosus)

Eleuthero (Eleutherococcus senticosus [Rupr. & Maxim.] Maxim.), a shrub belonging to the Araliaceae family, has roots, stems, and leaves that can all be used medicinally. Its taste is slightly spicy and mildly bitter; it has a slightly warm nature, is nontoxic, and is associated with the spleen, kidney, and heart meridians. Modern medical research has shown that Eleuthero contains key components with notable antiaging and anti-fatigue properties, capable of enhancing both physical and mental stamina, while also regulating the nervous system. In recent years, Eleuthero has been used in China as a medicinal herb for liver protection, anti-cancer applications, as a tonic, and to strengthen the body.
