The Diseases of Bletilla Species
摘要
The genus Bletilla (Bletilla Rchb.f.), part of the Orchidaceae family, includes several species commonly used in traditional Chinese medicine, such as Bletilla formosana (Hyata) Schltr., B. ochracea Schltr., B. sinensis (Rolf) Schltr., and B. striata (Thunb. ex Murray) Rchb.f. The dried tuber of Bletilla striata serves as the medicinal part of the plant. Bletilla is a perennial herb widely found in regions including southern Shaanxi, southeastern Gansu, Jiangsu, Anhui, Zhejiang, Jiangxi, Fujian, Hubei, Hunan, Guangdong, Guangxi, Sichuan, and Guizhou. The tuber is irregularly flat and round with a translucent, glossy appearance when cut, containing small, scattered vascular bundles. It has a sticky texture when chewed and is known for its hemostatic, anti-swelling, and wound-healing properties.
