The population of the world is on the rise. So is the need for transportation. The number of vehicles being registered generally rise with rise in population. As the most populous country, in India steadily rising population has also been accompanied by a significant increase in vehicle production, as evidenced by the data published in the Road Transport Yearbook (2017–2018 and 2018–2019) [1] (Fig. 1.1). This surge in vehicular growth inevitably leads to a corresponding escalation in tyre consumption and disposal, raising critical concerns regarding end-of-life tyre management.
