Work Performance: Perspectives from Social Media Use and Its Implications for Early Detection of Mental Health
摘要
Through this research, we explore the effect of social media use on employee performance. However, social media use is divided into two categories: work and personal, with work stress as a mediator. We collect data through online survey, from December 2024 to February 2025, resulting in 73 returned surveys from specific one construction company. To analyse the data, we utilize partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM), in two-stage process, first initial validation of the measurement assesment, then structural assesment. Results indicated that both personal and professional social media use have a positive impact on employee performance. Findings showed the potential for social media interactions in the workplace to facilitate early detection of mental health issues and provide actionable implications for organizational strategies and initiatives to improve employee well-being.
