On the night of the 15th, I invited three of my friends to join me at the Japanese concession west of the gate, at the Tianxian Tea House, to listen to some dramas. It was the third performance we had attended. As we watched the actresses on stage, we were captivated by their enchanting postures and dazzling tones. They portrayed their characters with such delicacy and liveliness that they resembled graceful dancers, earning a round of applause from the entire theatre.
