Climate risk communication plays a critical role in enhancing public awareness, preparedness, and resilience against climate-induced hazards. However, gender disparities in access to information, decision-making, and response strategies often remain a barrier to these efforts. This chapter will explore Malaysia’s current climate risk communication framework, including government policies, media campaigns, and community-based initiatives, to assess the extent to which gender-sensitive approaches are integrated into these strategies and identify gaps in addressing the unique needs of women and other vulnerable groups. To enhance climate resilience, this chapter will advocate the need for gender-sensitive risk communication that promotes equitable access to climate information, encourages women’s leadership in climate action, and leverages indigenous knowledge systems. By integrating gender perspectives into climate risk communication, Malaysia can build a more inclusive and adaptive society in the face of escalating climate challenges.

摘要
