Gender and Policy-Narrative Analysis of Natural Disaster-Related Policy in Nepal and Sri Lanka
摘要
Gendered vulnerabilities during natural disasters are shaped by unequal gender relations, capacities, and capabilities to respond during and after disasters. Gender components of national disaster policies are crucial to address unequal gender relations and ensure gendered access to resources so that vulnerable individuals and communities can thrive during and after disaster. This chapter focuses on gender concerns during natural disasters by examining natural disaster policy in Nepal and Sri Lanka. Through narrative analysis of the policy documents, it examines policy efforts to create gendered resilient futures.
