Fuzzy FMEA Application to Improving Failure Analysis Efficiency in a Coal Handling System
摘要
Maintenance and reliability of power generation plants are crucial for continuous operation and productivity. This lies in the upkeep and reliability of various subsystems and their equipment. In this context, the study emphasizes the need for a comprehensive framework that integrates quantitative and qualitative analysis to comprehend the cause of failure of the Coal Handling System (CHS). Recognizing the limitations of traditional FMEA, the study introduces the application of Fuzzy Risk Priority Number (FRPN) for prioritizing and evaluating potential failure modes in a thermal power plant. The proposed Fuzzy Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FFMEA) model thoroughly examines CHS through linguistic variables and models. A comparative analysis between traditional FMEA and FFMEA aids in comparing recurring FMEA and newly introduced FFMEA to boost confidence in maintenance strategies, reduce system downtime, and improve operational efficiency. Furthermore, the application of FFMEA supports judicious selection of robust maintenance strategies for elevating the safety level within the work system.
