摘要

The purpose of this research was to analyze the influence of sampling frequency on the characteristics of sound signals acquired. Ten sound signals were measured at a vibration test rig with a voltage of 6 V for 30 s, and sampling frequencies ranging from 11 to 20 kHz. The zero-mean value of the sound signals indicated that sampling frequency had no statistically significant effect on most signal characteristics, except for the kurtosis and the crest factor. However, noise was recorded during the measurement at a lower sampling frequency and this could affect the features of the original sound signals. This led to the recommendation that sound signal should be measured between 17–20 kHz to ensure the important information contained does not become erroneous.
