Experimental Study of the Use of Piezoelectric in a Rotational Energy Harvesting Mechanism
摘要
Piezoelectric have been widely used as an energy harvester to generate electrical energy. However, the applications are still limited as the energy produced is still small. A rotational energy harvesting mechanism is developed to enhance the energy production. The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of the number of piezoelectric used in a rotational energy harvesting mechanism. The piezoelectric is excited by the force impelled from magnetic pairs. The number of piezoelectric used is in three variations; 1 piece of piezoelectric, 2 pieces of piezoelectric and 4 pieces of piezoelectric. The experimental result shows that the more piezoelectric used, the higher the voltage resulted. The lowest is the mechanism embedded with one piezoelectric which produced 2.02 V at the speed of 1060 rpm. The highest is produced by the four pieces of piezoelectric which produced 7.77 V at the speed of 909 rpm.
