Exploring the Production of Bioenergy and Biofuel from an Ethical and Socio-Economic Perspective
摘要
BiofuelBiofuel and bioenergyBioenergy production have emerged as a sustainable alternative for the establishment of a circular bioeconomy. However, their development and large-scale implementation are associated with significant social, ethicalEthical andPolicies policy-related challenges. The key concerns limiting their development are directed toward food security, land use, and environmental protection. Despite the growing number of studies focusing on the technical, economic and environmentalImpact impactEnvironmental impact of biofuelBiofuel and bioenergyBioenergy, the ethicalEthical perspective remains unexplored. This chapter contributes to bridging this knowledge gap by giving the latest ethicalEthical perspective focusing on land use change, social equity, and resource security, thereby incorporating ethical and social dimensions of biofuel and bioenergy development. Additionally, the chapter highlights the necessity of integrating ethicalEthical, social and environmental parameters into biofuel policyPolicies framework. A comprehensive approach that combines advanced technological innovation with sustainabilitySustainability and social justices is essential for ensuring positive contribution of biofuelBiofuel and bioenergyBioenergy toward circular economyCircular economy.
