Development and Evaluation of a Real-Time Drowsiness Monitoring System

One of the main causes of road accidents is lack of attention and drowsiness, which put in danger to both drivers and others. The main objective of this paper to develop a real-time monitoring system using the Open CV module in Python to detect signs of drowsiness and interference in real-time. The technology of the system monitors live video to track yawning, eye closure, and periods of still eye movement that can indicate daydreaming. It supports avoid accidents by warning the driver of the first indications of fatigue or inattention. In this paper, the system creates a simple, effective, and affordable solution to develop road safety. The system watches live video to check for: Eyes closing, Head movement, Yawning and Eyes not moving (such as, daydreaming). When it detects these signs, it alerts the driver, preventing accidents before they happen. Ability of the system make simple, work well, and be cheap for everyone and make roads safer for everyone.
