The Shifting of Housing Landscape Quality in Yogyakarta
摘要
The development of new housing in several cities is very widespread in Indonesia. In the process, there has been a shift in housing development trends between the previous and the current period. This can also be seen from changes in the existing landscape, which can be justified by comparing the housing site plan. At a time when many housing developments were conducted by large developers, the area offered was large-scale housing with a large number of housing units, which were usually located in large residential areas. The visual landscape or site produced also varies according to the large-scale housing concept being offered. Meanwhile, when a lot of housing is offered on a small scale, including the size of the units, the resulting landscape is also different, which can be said to be relatively limited. Spatially, it can be said that there is a difference or shift in the quality of the residential landscape, both from the internal and external aspects of the surrounding area. Here, the researcher’s curiosity arises about how the changes occurred. This research aims to look at shifts in the quality of the housing landscape in Yogyakarta, one of the medium cities in Indonesia, and indications of the factors that cause them. The research method used is to identify various existing housing typologies, especially the quality of the existing landscape, by looking at its housing patterns. Exploration was carried out in a time series by comparing real conditions in the field through surveys with mapping of housing locations. Interviews with landscape observers and housing development or management agencies will be carried out to explain the shifting factors. The presentation given is descriptive. From here, it is hoped that discourse will emerge to anticipate shifts in the quality of the housing landscape, which will benefit not only the city or urban area of Yogyakarta but also other cities in Indonesia with similar characteristics.
