Analysis of Thermal Comfort Study in SMAN 10 South Tangerang Classrooms Using PMV and PPD Models

A space within the design scope must be able to keep its users safe from any disturbances. Thermal comfort conditions are impacted by a number of factors, including air temperature, air movement, humidity, and sun radiation. An area that serves as a learning space is one that particularly needs thermal comfort conditions. This case study on thermal comfort concerns was conducted at SMAN 10 South Tangerang, which is situated in one of Indonesia’s hotter regions. This study will use the Multifunction Environment Meter tool to process data from direct observations about thermal comfort. The CBE Thermal Comfort Tool is then used to process this data and determine the PMV and PPD values. After receiving the data results, an analysis will be conducted to discuss the thermal comfort review of the case study item. The Predicted Mean Vote (PMV) value found is an average of +1 (slightly warm), with values ranging from +2 (hot) to 0 (neutral). The predicted percentage dissatisfied (PPD) in ten classes is more than the ASHRAE-55 (2017) standard value, which should be no more than 20%.
