Classroom architectural design generally only focuses on visual and spatial aspects. However, recent research shows that a multisensory approach can create a more engaging and effective learning environment. This paper tries to evaluate the multisensory perceptions that emerge in classrooms using a questionnaire-based survey of students in the classroom. Students were asked to complete a semantic questionnaire that assessed their perceptions of the classroom environment on various multisensory dimensions. Using Principal Component Analysis (PCA) on a questionnaire filled out by 605 students in an actual classroom, results show there are three main perception dimensions in the classroom: Thermal and air (31.1% of variance), ambient light (22.0% of variance), and acoustic clarity (16.5% of variance). By involving sustainability, the three main dimensions identified in this paper can serve as a valuable guide for designing more stimulating and supportive learning in a classroom environment.
