摘要
Heritage conservation approaches integrate historical identities into unique experiences based on individual perceptions. Multi-sensory, which refers to the quality of perception, is one keystone in valuing urban historic areas. To evaluate multi-sensory perception, perceptual attributes or descriptors are required to describe how the quality of the environment is experienced by individual senses. Instead of relying solely on English descriptors, which can lead to language misinterpretation and incorrect evaluations, this article explores local statements when people appreciate the Gedung Sate area in Bandung, Indonesia. The result revealed seven key descriptors covering visual, auditory, olfactory, and tactile aspects based on content analysis of 265 online questionnaires. The findings shed light on local people’s perceptions of cultural heritage sites, which could direct future studies on multi-sensory perception
