Contextual Approach in Masterplan Phasing of M. Th. Djaman Regional General Hospital Sanggau

Strategies and specific techniques are needed to design a hospital master plan. Using a phasing method in the development process, every building mass created can be built appropriately, responding to environmental conditions. This study explains the application of the contextual approach in M. Th. Djaman Regional General Hospital masterplan phasing. From the four parameters within this case scope, 2 parameters can be reviewed as approaches in masterplan phasing: the nature approach and the physical respect approach. Using these contextual approach parameters, the phasing of masterplan development can go through an efficient and comprehensive process, both from a physical building perspective and design responses to environmental conditions.
