The visual experience of collinear architectural elements is considered to attract attention and can potentially be a restorative experience. With the experimental method, this research conducted empirical testing of the theory where respondents were asked 8 variations of scenes consisting of urban environment, nature, and collinear architectural elements. Through eye-tracking, the findings showed that the existence of architectural elements with collinear patterns can change respondents’ attention in the environment, both urban and natural environments. These findings indicate that the presence of architectural elements with a collinear pattern arrangement in an environment plays a role in attracting visual attention and potentially enabling attention restoration.
