Development of Modern Educational Tourism in the Residential Area of Kali Code and Njeron Beteng, Yogyakarta

Tourism is the regional economic driver of the Yogyakarta Special Region. The Kali Code and Njeron Beteng residential areas in Yogyakarta are two urban villages that have a special history because these villages have developed and transformed over time. For improving the welfare of local communities, modern education tourism can be implemented in these two areas. This study identifies the potential of the Kali Code and Njeron Beteng residential areas which can support the development of modern educational tourism, as well as the current physical quality and characteristics of the two areas. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method and the results provide information on how educational tourism could be developed and support modern educational tourism in a residential area.
