摘要

One of the primary strategies to achieve a livable and sustainable city is to develop the city by improving environmentally friendly travel conditions such as cycling and walking, reducing private car use and using public transport. Individuals have diverse travel needs, and their preferences influence the decision to use transportation modes, which is crucial for improving transportation services. These concepts underpin this study by distributing questionnaires to locals in several areas in Madiun, a city with limited public transportation conditions and options. A binary logistic approach is applied to determine private transportation users’ preferences for using public transportation in Madiun. The method provides information on the critical factors shaping public transportation usage. The results illustrate various preferences that influence the use of public transportation, such as travel distance, travel frequency, and perception of bus safety. The outcome is essential to support transport policy towards sustainable mobility.
