摘要

Rapid increase of global population triggers an increasing need for housing. This action is linked to the global construction industry, which significantly contributes to environmental damages by consuming 50% of natural resources, 40% energy, 16% water, and 45% of CO2 emissions. This calls for the implementation of sustainable development principles. The Coral Triangle region, a coastal ecosystem capable of transferring and storing carbon from the atmosphere and ocean, has a strategic role in dealing with this phenomenon. Batu-Batu Eco Village located in Berau Regency, close to the Coral Triangle area in Indonesia, initiated a sustainable and low-carbon area with a concept of community investment. This study was conducted by integrating various aspects to create a healthy and sustainable future within the framework of integrated regeneration. İts innovative solutions focus on the values of adaptive local community to environmental issues, enabling the design outputs to reduce negative impacts in the area.
