Slum Upgrading Spatial Adjustment: Case Study of Kampung Mojo HP 00001 Surakarta

摘要

Kampung Mojo is the result of the Surakarta city government’s slum upgrading program, which considers the local community’s housing need. In this project, the spatial adjustment and building adaptation reflects human needs in their homes. The location of this research is in Kampung Mojo, HP 00001 Pasar Kliwon District. This research aims to identify spatial adjustment patterns in houses, including the bedroom, living room, kitchen, and bathroom. The study uses a qualitative descriptive method to analyze modular space modifications by comparing the initial house plan with the current adjustments. Results of this study revealed that spatial adjustments occurred in the bedroom, living room, and terrace. This study has implications for stakeholders in terms of housing sustainability and the health of its occupants.
