Evaluation of Response Performance and Grid Contribution of Air Conditioners to Provide Frequency Reserve

摘要

This study aims to provide the frequency reserve by collectively regulating the power consumption of inverter air conditioners. The response performance of an air conditioner to some simulated control commands is evaluated through experiments using an existing one to evaluate the feasibility of providing the frequency reserve. The simulation study using a model obtained by the experiment is also investigated. A simple control method is proposed for the easy implementation of the edge controller. As the input signal to inverter air conditioners, the combination of frequency deviations and the output of thermal power plants is used to suppress frequency deviations effectively. The results demonstrate the effectiveness of the frequency reserve provided by inverter air conditioners.
