The Effect of the Asymmetric Coefficient on the Quality of the Resulting Semi-Finished Product

摘要

Wrought non-heat-treatable a aluminum-magnesium alloys are used in many industries. One method of increasing the strength of 5XXX series alloys is to add zirconium and scandium. Scandium and zirconium form dispersoids that effectively increase the strength of the alloys. However, adding rare-earth metals can negatively affect the economic performance of the alloys. To reduce costs and optimize the production of rolled aluminum alloys 5XXX series, it is proposed to use asymmetric rolling in the final passes of hot rolling in the finishing mill. The study was carried out on a thermally deformable aluminum alloy, a 5XXX series alloy with scandium, which has the Russian marking 1580. Semi-finished products of both symmetrical and asymmetric rolling were rolled in Zhilyaev’s laboratory at Magnitogorsk State Technical University. Nosova at the unique laboratory industrial rolling mill 400. The asymmetric type of rolling makes it possible to obtain a more developed one due to high compression and shear deformations. Higher reduction can be given in one pass, which reduces the number of passes and has a positive effect on the cost and time of semi-finished products. In this work, the effect of asymmetry factors on the last passes of hot rolling from 1.1 to 1.5 on the quality of the resulting semi-finished product was considered.
