Smart and Resilient Construction Industry Supply Chain: A Study on Industry 4.0 Integration and Future Opportunities
摘要
The construction sector is undergoing significant advancements due to the digital revolution propelled by Industry 4.0 technologies in supply chain management (SCM). This study emphasizes that integrating automation, big data analytics, blockchain, and the Internet of Things (IoT) will enhance operational efficiency, transparency, and stakeholder collaboration. Our literature review indicates that these technologies improve decision-making and sustainability while streamlining procurement. However, challenges such as high implementation costs, skilled labor shortages, cybersecurity risks, and interoperability must be addressed for widespread adoption. Establishing standardized frameworks, strong data security, and strategic policy interventions is crucial. Future research should focus on optimizing integration models and developing cost-effective deployment strategies for the digital transformation of the construction supply chain.
