Experimental Research on the Effects of Cross-section Size, Metal Skeleton, and Internal Fabric on the Mechanical Properties of Slat Seam Seals

  • Yang Wu

摘要

In order to optimize the design of the slat seam seal, this paper investigates the influence of the main design factors on the mechanical properties of the seam seal based on the controlled variable method using mechanical compression tests, which include the cross-section size, the metal skeleton, and the internal fabric. The study shows that under the same displacement conditions, the cross-section size, wall thickness size, cross-section length of the metal skeleton, and the lay-up of the internal fabric, all show a positive correlation on the mechanical properties of the slat seam seals. The research work in this paper can help to improve the design and manufacture of existing seals, provide theoretical basis and technical support for the development of new seals, which can improve the overall performance of the aircraft, reduce maintenance costs, and provide data reference and optimization direction for the design and manufacturing of civil aircraft.
