An Ocean Profiler with the Function of Moving Along the Mooring Line and Obstacle Crossing

In response to the problem of how the patrol cable profile observation platform can cross the vibration reducing floating ball tied to the cable, this paper designs a patrol cable mobile observation platform with the function of crossing obstacles such as the mooring floating ball on the cable. The platform is a cylindrical structure that can be opened and closed, mainly composed of left and right half cylinders and flexible cables. When the patrol cable moves, the left and right half cylinders merge into one. When passing over the mooring line and attaching the floating ball, the left and right half cylinders separate. A dynamic model of the obstacle crossing process of the profile observation platform was established, and its obstacle crossing performance was simulated and verified by test. The results indicate that the designed mobile observation platform can achieve obstacle crossing function using at least 70 N thruster, providing a technical solution for designing a cable-based efficient profile observation platform.
