Thread Penetration Design of Premium Connection
摘要
As the weakest link in the oil well pipe string, the connection threads often face failure and sealing issues during production operations, which can significantly impact the normal functioning of oil and gas wells. To address this problem, leading manufacturers worldwide have developed specialized threads that offer advantages such as controllable torque, high connection strength, and effective sealing performance, building upon conventional standard thread designs to enhance the safety of oil well pipe strings. However, due to variability in thread processing tolerances and differences in thread lubricants, the optimal torque settings for these threads have not been effectively selected during the design process. Consequently, this has not resulted in a significant reduction in failures of the actual field connection threads. Therefore, there is an urgent need for a study focusing on the torque design analysis of specialized thread structures to extend the service life of these threaded pipe strings in underground oil wells.
