Design and Experimental Analysis of a Modular Multi-Link Driven Small-Scale Chinese Cabbage Harvester

At present, there is a lack of small cabbage harvesting machinery for farmers to harvest small cabbage. Based on this situation, this paper proposes a modular multi-link driven small-scale Chinese cabbage harvester, using SolidWorks 3D modeling software to design the structural model. Theoretical calculations were conducted on the main mechanism, followed by finite element analysis (FEA) of key components. Based on these analytical results, a physical prototype was fabricated. The size is 440 mm × 360 mm × 315 mm. Through the test, the average time of harvesting the Chinese cabbage model of the Chinese cabbage harvester prototype was 6.49 s. The prototype innovatively completed the cutting and harvesting function of Chinese cabbage, which helped to improve the efficiency of farmers to harvest a small range of Chinese cabbage.
