Analysis of Q-Angle Measurement Using Kinovea Software among Females with Patellofemoral Pain Syndrome
摘要
Patellofemoral pain syndrome is a frequent knee condition that significantly experiences pain and discomfort around or behind the patella, which can typically be provoked by squatting, jumping and sitting for continuous periods. Therefore, the objective of this study was to analyze Q angle measurement using Kinovea software among females with Patellofemoral Pain Syndrome. This is a quasi-experimental study where 30 females clinically diagnosed as PFPS were recruited. 30 participants were treated with Vastus medialis Oblique strengthening exercise with Mc Connell taping. Kinovea software was used to measure the Q angle of the knee joint. The study was considered as statistically significant because the p-value is less than 0.0001. Q angle measurement of PFPS Pre-test Mean value was 22.7 and SD value was 1.62, post-test Mean value was 17.80 and SD value was 1.86. The study revealed a significant difference in the pre-test mean value of the q angle compared with the post-test mean values.
