During the Song Dynasty, following further consolidation of ideological control, a group of “Daoist scholars” emerged in the field of philosophy. They propagated Confucian teachings and, in alignment with the political needs of the Song Dynasty, emphasized the establishment of a feudal orthodox worldview. While they also discussed literary matters, their conclusions merely sought to obliterate literature.
